COVID-19 Update May 15

Dear Colleagues,

I do hope you participated in the Paris Colloquium and enjoyed the presentations, especially the one on Diversity for which Cathy Lyn is the global champion. She continues to work tirelessly at the International level showcasing the value that Caribbean actuaries contribute at a global level.

I take this opportunity to thank Cathy for all her efforts that reflect positively on us all. Last year, Janet Sharp hosted a celebration honouring Cathy for the International accolades that she had received from the IAA and the SOA.

She is truly an exceptional ambassador for our profession.

The SOA has published the latest version of their Research Brief just this morning. It may be downloaded here.

We have come across this new website from Yaneer Bar-Yam, a physicist and systems scientist, President of the New England Complex Systems Institute. Here’s an interview with Prof. Bar-Yam in Forbes.

Thanks for the feedback, sharing of links and reports, especially those relevant to the Caribbean. Remember to check the Resources page on our website for key links.

Thank you.

Shubhash Gosine
